Protect Your Family from the Flu

 Flu Season Is Here

Protect Your Family From The Flu

Children can have serious complications from the flu more often than adults - especially children with health conditions like asthma. Give them the best protection you can.

Have the whole family get their flu shot, and prevent the spread of the flu this school year!

Best Ways to Prevent the Flu

  • Flu Shot or Nasal Spray: Your #1 best protection
  • Wash Your Hands
  • Wear a mask if you have a cough

Everyone over 6 months old should get the flu shot. Get the flu shot or nasal spray at your pediatrician’s office, or at CVS, Walgreens or another local pharmacy (check age requirements). The flu shot is free with most insurance plans, including Medicaid. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to be sure.

What If I Think My Child Has The Flu?

Contact your primary care doctor for testing - your doctor may want to test your child for both the flu and COVID-19.

• Stay home from school and rest

• Drink lots of fluids - watch for dehydration

• Treat with weight-appropriate dose of Tylenol to help with fever and aches

• Follow up with your doctor if your child is: so tired they will not perk up, dehydrated, or they develop difficulty breathing

Sign up for Hazel: We’ve partnered with Hazel Health to provide students virtual doctor visits when they are feeling sick. Be sure to register your child, and schedule a visit at my.hazel.co/robla
