New Hope Charter School (NHCS) offers a college-preparatory academic environment, including annual university visits for every student, college prep workshops for parents and students, and a rigorous academic program with an extended school day and school year that prepares our students to meet UC/CSU A-G requirements in high school.Unfortunately, high-quality college-prep middle school opportunities for the Robla community are scarce. In 2019-20, only 30.6% of Twin Rivers Unified School District (TRUSD) high school graduates met A-G requirements, well below County (44.6%) and State (44.3%) averages.
During our school-design process with Robla families and community members, a key point of emphasis was equity through access and inclusion of all students, especially English Learners, in Arts electives and all aspects of school life – something which Robla parents said is not available in neighboring schools. NHCS is a school of and for the unique Robla community whereby the cultural, social, and personal needs of each student drive and inform the innovative, college-preparatory academic experience. NHCS fosters student-centered learning environments, where teachers maintain high expectations for the learning of rigorous content, differentiate instruction for varied learning styles and varied ability levels, and offer students multiple opportunities and methods to learn and demonstrate their learning.
NHCS provides all students a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum to foster maximum academic achievement and positive character development in a safe learning environment.
